Guardian Limited are proud to play host to Bakedin - an innovative culinary start-up with a very bright future ahead.
Since their inception in 2013, the team at Bakedin have done an excellent job of creating exposure for their line of baking kits, and subsequently securing funding to realise the company’s existence in today’s market.
Thanks to the hard work and determination of those involved, a long-term relationship has been forged with one of the world’s best known and most talented pastry chefs - Michel Roux, resulting in the award-wining, French-born chef and restauranteur personally developing all recipes.
October 2015 and following early success, the young start-up company was set to increase output, relocating offices and manufacturing to Guardian’s Sterling House located in Basingstoke, north-Hampshire.
Sterling House is sub-divided in to numerous spaces, and home to no less than eight different companies of varying sizes. Bakedin were scheduled to occupy a large proportion of this facility including a newly refurbished, self-contained office and adjoining 3,238 Sq. ft. warehouse.
Prior to their arrival, Guardian had been tasked with modifying the two spaces to an agreed specification, of which incorporated the fabrication of a new staff break room, food-grade production area, clean area for packaging and central stores. Our scope of works included also the installation of additional power and water services to serve the additional areas and machinery used for manufacturing.
in 2018 Baked In had outgrown the unit at Sterling House and moved into the four units at Lennox Mall, these units were also adapted to suit the expanding business
The entire project lasted a small handful of weeks and was completed in time and on budget, ready for Bakedin’s arrival. Fast-forward to today and the once young start-up has really found traction, with their ever-expanding range of products now on the shelves of hundreds of stockists, including non-other than Selfridges, Ocado and Center Parcs to name a few.
“Grow with Guardian” was a motto coined to represent our ability to expand with our clients, catering for their ever-changing needs during times of growth. This has never been more prominent than in the instance of Bakedin, where two years later, their sustained growth requires Guardian to undertake a new project to further expand the production and warehouse areas, so that they can increase volume and grow once again.

We moved our office and small food manufacturing setup to Sterling House in October 2015. We needed some modifications to the unit so we could reach the standards required to achieve Safe and Local Supplier Approval (SALSA). The Guardian team took care of everything, including sourcing the equipment, modifying the unit and installation.
